Who The Heck Is Leslie And Why You Will Love BAB2.0

By Leslie Samuel

So you're probably wondering who I am. Well, in this video, I tell you a little bit about who I am and how I got here.Β This is so that we can start off on the right foot.

So go ahead and take a peak into my world below.

But don't stop there. Tell me a little bit about who you are . . .

  • Hi Leslie,
Nice to get to know you. I’ve stumbled into blogging at the request of others actually. I have become an avid extreme couponer over the last couple years (really before it became such the “in” thing to do). I’ve constantly had people ask me if I have a blog, or how do I do what I do. So, I’ve finally dived in and found this site with all the info. The videos helped me tremendously on getting my blog up and running. While it’s definitely been slow to start, I’m eager to see more videos on how to increase traffic to my site. That’s the main area I’m interested in right now. So, hopefully we’ll get to that really soon!

    Rachael M.

    • Hi Rachael,

Great to have you here and good to know a little more about you. I just checked out your blog and it looks great. I think it’s the perfect design for what you’re blogging about. Keep up the good work!

  • Hey Leslie…. I’ve been dipping my toes in for the last couple of years and now it’s time to get serious. Your energy is contagious and I can’t wait to jump in and get going. Show me the way!
    -Steve

  • Hi Leslie,

Your enthusiasm is contagious and your backstory is interesting. I see you blog primarily about biology, your area of expertise. Would you mind posting a link to it? Are you still teaching?

I do offline business marketing, which is a variation of what I’ve done for 20 years except I focus on small businesses instead of large corporations. But my real passion is in another niche that has huge brand competition. And since I love to write I reckon blogging would be a great way to get some traction.

Looking forward to learning more from you, Gideon and Yarik.

    Cheers,

    Brenda

  • Hi Leslie, Great to see you have had such success and you are so passionate and enthusiastic about blogging because we have a lot in common. My background is also as a biologist. Then I made a shift to communicating science to the public. Now I am well and truly ready for the next big change and my goal is to establish a successful business online using blogging as the platform. I’m excited about the many and varied opportunities available on the internet to people no matter what their background is. You are a great coach and an inspiration. Have enjoyed your videos very much and look forward to watching, listening and learning much more. regards, Lorna.

    • Hi Lorna,

Yes, I LOVE what I’m doing. Blogging is awesome. And great to meet a fellow Biologist. We need more Science Bloggers πŸ˜‰

Glad you are enjoying the videos. Stay tuned for more πŸ™‚

  • Nice to ‘meet you’ Leslie. Great intro. Never been to St Martin but I’m sure it’s beautiful. Looking forward to the next installment.

  • Hi!
My name is ShariLee, and I have four websites I’m working on. One is about growing in Christ–that’s run4theprize.com; one is about being a grandmother–that’s ammas-house.com; one is about learning to blog–that is bloggingmywayforward.com–moved over from blogspot; the last is 2ufrombrittany.com, which is on its way to becoming a jewelry site–mostly pearls. I am the farthest along with run4theprize, but I have ideas for all of them.

Currently I work with REVStaffing as a virtual assistant to real estate agents. I blog for them and tweet and etc.. I am a Licensed Title Agent here in the US, so working with real estate agents is just another segment of the market for me. I have been a freelance writer all of my life, and I have been an editor for many years.

I have 6 or 7 parked domains with GoDaddy, from whom I purchase domains, and I have earned 5 cents from them so far . . . Ha, Ha! My hosting company is Hostgator. I use Flexability 3 Themes for my sites, and I also own FLEXfree themes so that I can get on with my second phase–which is to do some affiliate marketing.

I’m a mom, a grandmother and a great-grandmother, and I live and work in the Metro Orlando, Florida area of the US. I have only recently gone full time with my internet business–not because I have earned so much, but because I finally realized that if I don’t bite-the-bullet, and do it, I’ll never get past wishing that I could do it! Make sense?

So, I am banking on myself, asking the Lord for wisdom and the ability to learn quickly, so I can make the money I have always wanted to make.

That’s about it for me. I have been following Yaro for a long time. It was actually his and Gideon’s videos on how to set up a website that got me as far as I have gotten with the sites I have. These videos are excellent! I have to say, though, that once I joined iamlesliesamuel.com the videos I received and the instruction was not even close to being comparable to the first ten videos, not to mention that the first ten videos were the first part of the course. I was I was disappointed to be charged for what I had already received for free–so I could not justify spending money I didn’t really have to go much farther.

I love your presentation style–clear, concise and comprehensive–more like the first ten videos are; so I am hoping that the becomeablogger program has much improved in content and that I can join again and use it to move ahead fast–which I truly need to do. I’m encouraged and hopeful. Sincerely, and with a grateful, “Hi!” to Yaro and Gideon, ShariLee

    • Hi ShariLee,

WOW, you are doing a whole lot there, but I’m glad to see your passion for what you are doing and your wanting to by Guided by God. I’m the exact same way where that is concerned.

Sorry to hear that you didn’t find much value in the premium videos the first go around, but I think that it might be because you didn’t stick around long enough. We have reordered the content and put some of the more crucial videos at the beginning and we’ve significantly improved the content on Podcasting, Video and just building a business in general. I’m sure you will love 2.0.

Looking forward to seeing you around!

  • A friend told me about be come a blogger, so I got it.
To help set up my web site and it’s sill a work in progress.
With your updates I might go father.

  • Hi Leslie, such an enthusiastic video! I need that kind of inspiration πŸ™‚ I have both a professional blog on our website (www.parenthoodpuzzle.com/blog) and my own “blog/vlog” for my thoughts and life journey, however a bit unstructured and scattered. Looking forward to get more organised and set a goal with my blog. Wish I had had you as a biology teacher!!
    Rock on!
    Karin

    • I can’t help it. I’m sooo enthusiastic about this stuff Karin. I see you’re blog is in Swedish. Good stuff. I don’t understand it, but still glad that you’re doing it πŸ™‚

      All the best!

  • Hi Leslie!
Your energy in this video is not only exciting, it is contagious!! I am sitting here, wishing I didn’t have to run errands and could instead spend my time working on my blog to finish it and get it out onto the web! I have learned a lot so far and I am eating up this information like a sponge!

My blog so far will be to represent a company that assists others to brand and market successful ebooks. I have never built a blog before and without your teaching materials, I could not do it. Thank you for putting your information out there for others to digest and apply.

Again, thank you so much for sharing your materials! My life changed the day I came across the email that introduced this program. That may sound cheesy, but it is very true!

    Rae P.

    • LOL. WOOHOOO. Glad to be able to get you excited about blogging Rae P.

Also glad the videos are helping you set up your blog. Doesn’t sound cheesy at all. It sounds AWESOME πŸ˜€

  • Hey Leslie,

    Sergio here from Mexico.

My story started when I had an accident while vacationing about one year and a half ago, I smacked my feet with a mechanical game and that left me in bed for two straight months.

I started googling how to make money online, found a few businesses in a box and took it from there. I got scammed a few times, then bought many crappy products until I finally started recognizing who the good guys were and learned the importance behind social media.

I started my first blog and I decided to call it iSeeSalesPeople since I felt that every single person on the internet wanted to sell me something and I thought it was funny and catchy at the same time, so I went with that.

After many months of building trust and sharing tips with my readers, I decided to go at it on a full time basis and while I was living from my savings I went broke a few times and realized I wasn’t making any substantial money at all.

That led to asking for a loan and decided to go all in with this, started buying some high end products and I have all this theory in my head but little action.

Last year I closed my first blog and after taking a new mentoring course, I was suggested to create a marketing blog as a main hub (MarketingWithSergio) and that’s where I’m writing at right now.

I recently joined a course strictly on blogging (the first paid product on this topic) and these guys talk a lot about living from your passion, not from ‘marketing blogs’.

I look at my domain name and I kind of think it is boring so I’m thinking I got it all wrong for the second time and that’s exactly why I’m currently here on BAB.

I’m a big fan of Gideon’s work and I really like Yaro’s stuff too (have some reports from him on my Kindle) so being around here for me is like being with the best of the best.

Hope to learn more stuff from you guys and looking forward for what you’re preparing for us as well.

Take care and keep on rocking your amazing work Leslie, I really like it, cheers!

    Sergio

    • Oooo, I really like the name iSeeSalesPeople. Pretty slick idea.

Hey Sergio, glad to have you here and hope you continue enjoying the content. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

  • Forgot to say that I’m a Computer Systems Engineer, and many people (if not everyone) said that it was going to be very easy for me to get ahead on the Internet Marketing game but, it hasn’t been like that.

People say, do this, then this and finally this.

So I always realize what the heck am I doing until the end and I normally always have better ways of doing things (faster, better and more unique) but it’s a real problem to find out that what I was doing was something I already knew how to do and way better than I was taught.

So no, it doesn’t helps to know some stuff, at least not on the beginning! πŸ˜‰

    Sergio

  • LOvr your enthusiasm and passion.
I’ve been working very hard to get videoblogs up and running on my youtube channel. it’s been a bit rough. as a cosmetic dentist I haven’t had the time to devote to this. i have bought all the equipment and have made a few videos but it’s not consistent. i guess a bit of coaching would help. i feelliek i have no strategy around videoblogs and what my goals are. hopefully clarification will come soon πŸ™‚

    • Glad to hear you are enjoying the content.

Time can definitely be an issue and that’s why you need to make sure to get on a decent schedule, and that you are following proving methods. Stay tuned for more content πŸ˜‰

  • Hi Leslie, Yaro & Gidien. Thank you for the tutorials on becomingablogger. I have found these videos very helpful & full of useful information on how to get stsrted blogging. I had originally seen Yaro’s videos from sources like youtube when I was tring to learn more about clickbanks set up on hoplinks. Clickbank doesn’t work, their full of spam, viriouus & crappy products. I poersonally would not buy any of their crap & I am giving up on thhem! I thought Your blogging vidieo might give me an other fresh resourse on how to earn an income online. However; I don’t have a web site or a niche to blog about. Maybe someday in about 100 years I will. Clickbank says that I don’t need A web site to post hoplinks on products of my interest & that I can use social Media sites. well I’ve used Fbook, twitter, google+ & emails, etc. The results are lower than poor. Thel inks are not trusted by these sites & they’ve warned me not to continue or I’ll be baned. I can’t even open the links once posted as WOT’s = web of trust blocks them, google advises not to post inaproperate links & my friends say they get virious from the emails that I send!. I give up. Thanks any way.

    • You are very much welcome Scott. Glad to see that you are finding the videos helpful. Yes, you need to be selective about what you purchase online. There are great programs and products out there, but my recommendation is always to buy things recommended by people you trust, and by them for a specific purpose.

Hope you continue to find value in the content.

  • Hey Leslie,

I’m a Sys Admin contractor working in Afghanistan. My Wife said to me one day that she would like a blog so she could put down her thoughts about some of the crazy things that happen around her. So of course I searched Google about how to build a blog site. I signed up on Yaro’s site and started getting the emails and reading them, but never did anything. Then I got the email about the Become A Blogger 10 free video lessons and watched all of them. After watching the videos, I said I can do this. The next day I got started, getting domain name and a hosting site. My Wife didn’t think I was going to do until I sent the link to her site. She was a little reluctant at first, but she getting the hang of it. It’s still a work in progress, but please check it out. http://www.whatnthehell.com . Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the lessons.

    • Hey Auston, great to hear that you have your blog up and running. Good stuff. Glad to be able to help get it going. Stay tuned for more content on how to build and grow your blog!

  • Leslie, it’s been in my heart to have a website and make money on it. I tried health supplements, just on my own ( I do knot know anything about making website ), priest vestments, ( very costly to advertise ). I gave them all up.
Presently, I am creating a website ( gracefullysenior.com) to write things about seniors, using WordPress. I am slowly learning it. I have a few pages already. I will put affiliates on it so I can make money, and of course blogs from other seniors will be welcome. It’s a long haul for me, since I have to deal with the tech part and the content part.
I don’t know how you can help me.

    Teresita

    • Hi Teresita,

I definitely know how it is to try things and fail. Really and truly, every successful person I’ve ever met has had a bunch of failures in the past. But, they kept at it and eventually accomplished significant things.

One recommendation I would make is that if you don’t feel like you can handle the tech stuff, you can always outsource certain tasks to make it easier, and you can get better work that way. If money is an issue, then you can definitely use BAB 2.0 for guidance on how to do the tech stuff.

  • Leslie, I also studied Physical Therapy but never got licensed due to medical reasons. Now here I am twelve years later looking for a way to earn a living online. I hear that blogs get picked up quickly by the search engines and are great for developing a following. I appreciate your energy and all you’re doing to help people understand how to create a blog and ways to monetize it. Thanks. . .

    • Sorry to hear that you weren’t able to finish everything up due to medical reasons Mike. Hope to see great things happening for you with your brand new blog πŸ™‚

  • Hi Leslie:

I started my blog (www.nomoredirtydiapers.com/) but have a long way to go. I thought I would blog about raising my four teens and hope that it will become a source for other moms and dads to communicate and share stories.

I’m not sure if I am using WordPress properly and if I have added the correct plug-ins to my blog. I’m hoping to find out through your videos for Become a Blogger which I have just begun to view. You have a great way of getting your message across. I’m looking forward to viewing all the videos and learning to make my blog better.

    • I just love the name “No more dirty diapers”. So catchy Anne. Yes, BAB 2.0 will definitely give the guidance you need to continue building your blog, and I’m looking forward to seeing the progress.

  • HiLeslie, Good to hear more about you. My name is Jamee, I finally have a blog of my own: http://www.allaboutflow.com I am a video artist and produce programs for myself and others mostly in the wellness/holistic field. I’ve been following and learning from Gideon for a while now and am finally ready to focus on my own projects. I am currently creating a 30 day on-line course. I look forward to learning how I can progress with this the become a blogger 2.0 course. See you real soon! Jamee

    • I think I ran into your blog before Jamee. Great to hear that you are creating a 30 day online course. That’s an awesome product to have. Hope you continue to find value in the videos.

  • Hello Leslie,
Its nice to meet you. I visited your sites they look great. I am a stay at home mom and I am new to blogging. I first came across the blogging world through a lady name Lisa I decided to start taking web design classes. I finally found something I am passionate about so I started my site. I look forward to the new videos. My site is http://rawcrave.com. God Bless.

    • Hi Pamela,

It’s great to be able to blog about your passion. Raw food is definitely a passion that a lot of people share, and I hope to see your blogging really taking off. Great to meet you.

  • Hi Leslie,
Great video, your enthusiasm is contagious. I lost my job in Oct 2010 and at 55 found it very difficult to find a new job. I tripped across Affiliate Marketing and decided I would try and make a living at it. Was caught in an endless circle of scam artists programs when accidentally found Gideon’s YouTube classes. He taught me more for free than any of the “courses” I had taken. I now have 2 blogs up and running but not really making any money yet. Sad part is that because I was on unemployment while doing these blogs, the State now wants me to pay back the $2,000.00 of unemployment I collected!! So far I have made $35.00 lol They actually told me if I sat at home watching TV they would have no problem with paying me!! So, I am now highly motivated to get this up and working. Look forward to your videos……….Bob

    • It’s funny how the government works sometimes Bob. Sorry to hear that.

But, my hope is that you are able to start a blog that does much more than the government can do to help you πŸ˜‰

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

  • Yes, you certainly are excited. I found Gideon and Yaro online and have been reading and listening to them. I did think what they were saying would not apply to me as I was on wordpress.com, but come to find out that wordpress.com will not take me where I want to go. Let me explain. I have recently closed my small paper/gift boutique. I saw how ‘doing business’ was changing and I no longer wanted to pay for inventory and then wait for it to sell or stand on my feet all week. After I closed the store I traveled to Europe and developed the idea of likening Europe to my home town. Best way to describe is to ask you to take a look at my site. http://ladolcevilla.net. I have only been blogging since Thanksgiving but adore it and the blogging community. I am poised to begin selling one of a kind items, collectibles and my own refabricated products; however I feel I will need to switch to wordpress.org. That will be difficult for a no tech person, self taught, like myself. I will stay tuned to see if you, Gideon and Yaro can help to point me in the right direction. Best, Lisa

    • Hi Lisa,

Great to see you starting to blog and I’m glad to have you here. Yes, I definitely recommend switching to your own self-hosted blog, according to the videos in Module 1. It’s actually a relatively easy process to make the switch, but you might want to consider hiring someone from a site like Odesk to do it for you. You can probably get someone to do the full transfer for less than $50.

      Hope that helps!

  • hi Leslie,
your enthusiastic presentation style has persuaded me to have another go at starting a blog. Like you, I found yaro and gideon some little while ago but somehow I could not get my head around the material they were offering. I am hoping to really ‘catch on’ this time around. I plan to give it my best shot!
    Patrick

    • WOOHOOO Patrick. I think BLOGS ROCK! I have a friend that calls me Dr. Blog, LOL. That tells you how much I talk about blogging. Maybe too much.

Looking forward to see you start that blog. Keep me posted!

  • Good afternoon Leslie. I am a single man who can not walk so well. I spend a lot of my time on the computer because I am limited to physical movement. I have worked for 38 years before this illness affected my mobility. I am now looking for some contact with the world, because I love life. I wake-up every morning with a smile on my face because I realize I am breathing. Now I would like to share with people my true happiness of unjudgemental love for my fellow man, so my fellow man will be able to leave their home each day, with no resentment towards anyone, and become a forgiving individual of peoples bad habits. I have very little money to live with, yet I manage. The blogging idea sounds like it might be something for me. Thank you so much for giving your gift and generousity to people who need your service and your knowledge. Thanking you again, David.

    • Good afternoon David,

First off thanks for taking the time to comment. Your story is awesome, and yes a blog would be a great platform for you to share it. It’s great to see people looking at the glass as half full. Actually, not even half full, because even when it’s half full of water, it’s half full of air. So I guess it’s always full πŸ˜‰

I’m really looking forward to seeing you get your blog going. All the best!

  • Leslie, that’s great that you are a PT. I’m an exercise physiologist.Glad to hear your making money on the web. There is a big need for this type of info in the fitness industry. I teach personal training and most of them have no idea of the possibilities that we both know.
    Joe

    • Ooo, an exercise physiologist. How exciting! Yes, I do believe there’s always a need for that type of info. There’s a lot out there, but if you can find an interesting angle, that would be awesome.

Anyways, thanks for the comment. Keep me updated.

    • It’s actually a Youtube video. If you can see youtube vids, you should be able to see it. I use a Macbook pro and I can see it fine. Hope you get it working D’arcy. I’m going to put together a video troubleshooting page and post it on here pretty soon.

  • Hi Leslie,
l am 49 yrs old, a father of 5 we’ve been struggling for a long time, mortgage, bills etc: l stumble across your video’s and learnt a lot about them.
I am now out a stage of life where I would like to do something where I can finally retire but I can’t do this unless I find something with which I can supplement my income.
What l am struggling with is what and where to start, The main area I’m interested in right now is to make money online.
l am a newbie at this and like to have my website up and running.

    • Hi John,

I do wish you the best with your situation. It sounds tough. I wouldn’t recommend for you to blog with the expectation of making money right now, but I do recommend starting a blog that can build towards a stable income. I hope you continue to find value in the resources we’re providing and that we’re able to help guide you in the right direction.

      All the best!

  • Greetings, I am a retired U.S. Military guy. I am from Ventura California. I now live in Thailand since 1996. Being a bit older these days I have been always been interested in the internet and the potential to make some spending money. I cannot work here. My current visa will not allow it. I have computers, cameras and a desire to make fun and have some money also from having “fun”.

    I am very, very interested.

My question is: Whats in “it” for you? Will I have to get you a fatted or golden calf or bull later?

I myself would like to have a few hundred thousand people joking with me also.

My Best and Humble Regards to You Sir.
