Is social media making you less productive?

Do you find yourself in tons of tabs, inundated by distractions, while trying to get work done?

In today's episode, I discuss how to be productive in a social media-dominated world.

Listen to This Episode

I've been doing a lot of reading lately. One of the books I'm reading is Deep Work.

The premise of the book is that deep work is one of the most valuable skills we can possess and while it's value is increasing, it's becoming increasingly rare.

It defines deep work as “Professional activities performed in a state of distraction-free concentration that push your cognitive capabilities to their limit.”

However, this social-media-dominated world is FULL of distractions.

But as a blogger, isn't it essential to be all over social media to be successful? It's 2017 and being “always on” has seemed to become the norm.

However, I believe that we've been fooled by some social media lies.

And yes, I believe that many of us (myself included) have become addicted to social media.

Listen to the episode, hear my thoughts, and then discover what I'm actively doing to try to reverse these problems in my life.
