We hear many more success stories than failure stories.
It makes sense. The success stories give us hope. They give us something to strive for.
Listen to This Episode
However, I think they also give us a mistaken view of reality.
The truth is, with every entrepreneurial success, there are usually many failures and difficulties along the way. This is the truth when it comes to my Entrepreneurial Journey and I'm pretty confident that it is the same with yours.
If this is the case, I think that we need to be more open about our failures. I hate that there are so many marketers that sell a bunch of hype. “Buy my product and I will show you how to make $28,352 in 31 days OR LESS”. That's a bunch of crap. And you know what – that's not reality.
The reality is:
If you want to be successful, you must be prepared for failure
- It takes A LOT of work to build a business. A LOT of HARD WORK!
- It usually takes a significant amount of time to make it to the top. It's NOT an overnight thing.
- Sometimes entrepreneurship SUCKS!
- BUT, if you keep at it, you can accomplish HUGE things
- I LOVE THIS
So, in this episode, I share the following about my journey:
- How it started
- The ridiculous failures I had in the beginning
- The setbacks I encounter even today
- How I got into blogging
- The role of family in everything
- When I realized that it was all worth it!
So go ahead and listen to this episode. It's not the typical episode, but more of a personal one. I hope you enjoy. Leave me your feedback in the comments below.

Thanks for sharing your story Leslie. Sometimes when things aren’t going easy in our own journey and we see others success we forget the hard work that goes into a business. You reminded us that the majority of successful people had their share of failures.
Yes indeed. Things aren’t always easy, but we push forward. Thanks for your comments Tom.
Hi Les,
Yes, its so easy to fall into those traps, especially when you’re low on finances. That’s why its so good you wrote this post reminding us that things (dreams) really can come through if you’re willing to put in the required amount of work. My patience is constantly tested too, resulting in disappointments then there are other instances where people do understand you and are willing to give you helping hand. Keep it up and take care, Hans
It’s always good to be reminded of that. Glad you got value from it Hans!
That was an awesome episode Leslie! Love hearing your story. It gives me hope and inspiration to keep plugging away at my podcast and entrepreneurial pursuits while still working full time.
Now, the secret for me to discover is where can I spend 20% of my time to yield 80% of the results?
Thanks Alex. Yep, that 80/20 stuff is so significant. Once you can find that 20%, you can take things to the next level.
I think I’ve heard most of those stories except the stock one. I was feeling the knife in the gut while you were telling it, especially when you said your friends lost their money and you got yours back in the scam story. That’s crazy! Great episode.
Yeah man, that was some serious stuff bro. Hey, all experiences to learn from, right? 🙂

You’re very much welcome Awazie!
Hi Leslie, I normally print off your podcasts and read them later, plus I keep them to refer back to easily. I can’t see where I can print this one off. Can you help me please?
Also can you tell me where the AdSense part 3 is. I can’t seem to find this one.
Hi Rose,
I apologize for this but the transcript isn’t available right now, and might not be for a while. My Virtual Assistant who normally does them lives in the area of the Philippines that was hit really hard by the Typhoon and she lost everything. She won’t be back to work for a little while and I’m the only person manning Become A Blogger right now. We will add the transcript at a later date.
Adsense part 3 is being written right now and should be posted soon. Stay tuned!
Thanks Leslie, that’s fine. I hope your assistant is ok herself although could not imagine what it would be like to go through something like that.
I’m sure we will all be very patient with you and your incredible site
Have an awesome day.
I really enjoyed this one Leslie..It’s honest..truthful and reminds us that patience is a necessity in the road to entrepreneurship.
